Chopin’s Warsaw ⑧

⑧Holy Trinity Church, Warsaw (Kościół Ewangelicko-Augsburski Świętej Trójcy)

In May and June of 1825, Chopin performed on the keyboard instrument known as the “aeromelodicon” at this church for Tsar Alexander I of Russia. This instrument, a transitional keyboard device, is now extinct. Moved by Chopin’s performance, Alexander I awarded him a diamond ring.

1825年5月•6月にショパンはこの教会でロシア皇帝アレクサンドル1世のために、鍵盤楽器「エアロメロディコン」を弾きました。これは過渡期の鍵盤楽器で現在は残っていない楽器だそう。感銘を受けたアレクサンドル1世は、ショパンにダイヤモンドの指輪を授与したのでした。
