I am deeply moved by today’s lesson.
For the first time, I saw a completely different musical landscape.
Playing Beethoven on Walter opened my eyes to the beauty and delicacy of his early sonatas, and I was brought to tears. I only wish I had discovered this world sooner.
It feels like an entirely different universe from what can be perceived on a modern piano. Every note required complete concentration through the fingertips. I also realized how much technique is needed to truly play this instrument well.
And yet, it was so much fun that I want to explore and experience even more.
Today was my fortepiano lesson with Professor Takahisa Ogura, and I am still filled with excitement and gratitude.
Thank you very much.
I will be participating in the masterclass on July 5th. I will prepare the Bärenreiter edition and hope to attend many of the listening sessions as well.
I am very much looking forward to continuing this journey.
